Servicing customers is more than selling spares
We have recently appointed Uwe Dam as Service & Business Development Manager at our head office in Denmark. Strengthening the organisation with this appointment reflects the commitment that Caljan Rite-Hite has to developing service as a business entity.
»To differentiate ourselves from our competitors, some years ago we extended our quality and service strategy with a safety concept. Since then we have focused on providing Quality, Safety and Service in all aspects of our business« comments Kenneth Hye-Knudsen, Vice President for Sales and Service. »During the years, we have installed more than 20,000 telescopic conveyors. Obviously our customers expect that these machines are kept in tip-top working order throughout their lifetime, which is why preventative maintenance contracts are rapidly becoming the norm for parcel carriers and warehouse distributors, who can’t accept down-time. We intend to become even more pro-active, introducing a range of new support products at corporate level. Uwe’s remit as Service & Business Development Manager, is to expand sales, whilst refining our service-oriented culture.«
Uwe Dam is looking forward to working with colleagues world-wide. »At Caljan Rite-Hite we can offer global service by experienced service engineers, effectively supporting our customers. My engineering background means that I can not only understand the added value that our products bring to our customers, but also the essentials of the construction. Without strong leadership any organisation stands still. To grow the service business, we must develop new support products, enhance customer support and increase the number of service contract partners. My first task at Caljan Rite-Hite will therefore be to gain insight into the customers’ expectations of our service organisation.« Uwe Dam will work closely with his colleagues globally rolling out new service products as these become available. |
